A MOTORCYCLE driver died after he crashed into a Mitsubishi trailer truck at Purok Kamansi, Circumferential Road, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City, at about 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, February 21.

Police identified the fatality as Ruben Canayan, 39, a resident of Bangga Totong Felisa, Barangay Felisa.

Major Armilyn Vargas, commander of Police Station 3, said Wednesday, February 22, that Canayan was driving his Suzuki Raider motorcycle when he bumped into a parked truck.

Canayan sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.

Vargas said there’s a possibility that the victim, who was not wearing protective gear, was overspeeding, and because of the strong impact, he did not survive.

She said there was already an initial settlement with the family of the victim and the owner of the truck.*
