Motorcycle driver killed after run over by truck

A MOTORCYCLE driver was killed while his companion was injured after they were figured in an accident at Hinicayan Road in Barangay E. Lopez, Silay City, Negros Occidental Sunday, February 19.

Killed was 30-year-old Antonio Granada of Brgy. Camang-Camang, Isabela, while injured was Michael Sunog, 30, of Brgy. E. Lopez, Silay.

Police said the victims were tailing a truck driven by Walden Gale, 57, of Silay, when the accident happened.

The truck changed lanes as a sugarcane truck was parked on the road ahead.

This was also when the motorcycle driver tried to overtake the moving truck, but he lost control, causing him and his back rider to fall to the pavement.

But the motorcycle driver was run over by the truck.

He was brought to the Teresita Locsin Jalandoni Provincial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The truck driver is now in the custody of the Silay police.(MPE)
