Motorcycle-riding gunmen kills 2

TWO persons were killed by unidentified assailants on a motorcycle in separate shooting incidents in Negros Occidental on December 20.

In Escalante City, Pepe Lu-ar, along with his wife, was about to enter the public market when a rider alighted from a motorcycle and shot him twice from behind.

The assailant then fired at him again at close range and fled, along with the motorcycle driver.

Lu-ar was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead.

Police recovered from the scene four fired bullets of .45 caliber, a sling bag containing four identification (ID) cards, a cellular phone, and a copy of an order of arrest.

In Cadiz City, Aurelio Metuda Jr. of Barangay Cabahug was inside the house of his relatives when he was shot by unidentified armed men on a motorcycle.

Metuda was brought to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities recovered from the scene a fired bullet of a .45 caliber pistol.

The police are still investigating both incidents.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
