The Department of Education (DepEd) in Negros Occidental has noted an increasing number of enrollees as the blended learning for public schools opened Monday, September 13, for school year 2021 to 2022.

Ian Arnold Arnaiz, Negros Occidental Schools Division spokesperson, said about 79 percent of last year's total number of enrollees which stood at 353,000 for both public elementary and secondary schools under the division have already enrolled this school year.

He said the enrollment is supposed to be until September 13 only but the DepEd decided to extend it by two months.

Arnaiz also said that there are some schools in the province where class opening and the releasing of modules were temporarily suspended to give way for disinfection because of some reported Covid-19 cases.

There is still no face to face classes in light of the prevailing Covid-19 threat. (TDE)
