Capitol employees expect year-end bonus, cash gift this week

THE Negros Occidental Provincial Government employees are expected to receive their year-end bonus and cash gift this week.

Venchito Magalona, president of the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees, said the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) is mandated to release the 13th-month pay on November 15.

The tax-free year-end bonus will be equal to one month basic salary while the cash gift will amount to P5,000, as stipulated in the Budget Circular 2016-4 earlier issued by the DBM.

Meanwhile, Magalona said the employees are also expecting additional cash gift from the Provincial Government.

He said the exact amount will be determined by Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr., as he noted the province has received various awards that could be the basis for the additional cash gift.

Marañon said last week the bonus for Capitol employees is automatically given but he did not reveal the exact amount.

Negros Occidental was recently awarded by the Department of Interior and Local Government for its exemplary performance and in appreciation of its long-term contribution to the development of the Performance Challenge Fund.
