Negros Occidental gets DILG award for excellence in local governance

THE Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has recognized the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental for its exemplary performance and long-term contribution to the development of the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF).

The award was given Thursday, November 8, during the PCF Summit held at Sulo Riviera Hotel in Manila. It was received by Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Ma. Lina Sanogal.

Undersecretary for operations Epimaco Densing III signed the certificate of recognition entitled, "Katangitanging Pagpupugay sa Lokal na Pamahalaan sa Pagsasa katuparan ng Performance Challenge Fund."

The said program promotes transparency, resiliency, socially-protectiveness and competitiveness for the successful implementation and completion of PCF projects since 2010.

The DILG acknowledges and appreciates the province's invaluable contribution and effort towards the effective and efficient delivery of basic service, responsive to the present and future needs of the community.

Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. was grateful for the recognition.

Sanogal said the award is attributed to the efficient and effective people of the Provincial Government for maintaining excellence in local governance, and for the inspiration, direction, and excellent leadership of Marañon, Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, and the Provincial Board members.
