Negros Occidental gets rice aid

THE Province of Negros Occidental, represented by Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II, accepted the donation of 500 sacks of rice through the charity initiative of businessman Ian Lo, Negros Grace Pharmacy President.

The said donation was held at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center (Nompac) near the old Provincial Administration Building in the presence of Diaz, Lo and his team Pauline Dimaranan, and John Gilbert Arceo on August 25.

The sacks of rice will likewise be given to those who seek food assistance from the Province in partnership with NGP.

NGP through Lo has been donating sacks of rice and other food and financial assistance to numerous local government units in the Province of Negros Occidental that include Bacolod City during calamities such as this Covid-19 pandemic, floods, and other emergencies.

Lo broadens his charity works to give back to the people of Negros Occidental, Bacolod City, and outside, who have unfailingly patronized his chain of drug stores.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
