NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the inauguration of the Guintubhan Bridge located along Isabela-Camangcamang Provincial Road in the Municipality of Isabela on Friday, August 7.

Isabela Mayor Irene Montilla, Negros Occidental Provincial Engineer Ernie Mapa and other local officials joined the governor in the activity.

The P60-million bridge has a length of 100 meters with 5.60 meters carriageway.

Montilla said the people of Isabela are happy and thankful to the Provincial Government for the "worthwhile project," which they said will make a difference in surrounding communities.

She said the bridge used to be made of wood and was destroyed by previous typhoons and so she is thankful to the Provincial Government for the concrete bridge, whose construction started in 2018.

Lacson is hoping the bridge will help facilitate more economic activities and more development in all neighboring barangays.

Local residents, especially tricycle drivers, said that they are thankful for the bridge, stressing it means a lot for them and for all the people in their community, considering that they have a large population.
