NEGROS Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. said that former special assistant to the president Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go is among the senatorial candidates he is supporting in the May 13 elections.

“He can help us because he is very close to the President, who still has three years in power,” the governor said.

Marañon is also supporting the candidacies of Senators Cynthia Villar, Juan Edgardo Angara, Grace Poe, and former Interior secretary Manuel Roxas II.

Meanwhile, Marañon suggested that 12 years old is an ideal age limit for the coverage of the Juvenile Act.

From 15 years old which is the present age limit, the suggestion is to lower it to nine years old.

That's too young, he said.

He said that the one who should be punished are the parents because if they raise their children well, they would not be a problematic child when they grow up. (TDE)
