Capitol reveals P600,000 Panaad monthly electric bill

THE Provincial Government of Negros Occidental is now strictly monitoring the electricity consumption of the local government units (LGUs) pavilion at the Panaad Park and Stadium after it was discovered that the monthly electrical bill is pegged at P600,000.

Lawyer Rayfrando Diaz, provincial administrator, said the electricity bill does not cover the consumption of the whole stadium but that of the pavilions only.

"That's why through the Provincial Engineer's Office, we are checking who the conscientious users are and who are not at Panaad," Diaz said.

The 32 LGUs in Negros, including Bacolod City, have permanent pavilions at the Panaad Park and Stadium and the Provincial Government shoulders all the electricity consumption.

Meanwhile, Diaz said that cleaning and road clearing operations have been imposed at Panaad, which is also undergoing repairs in preparation for the provincial meet and upcoming games.

Seal-off operation, which includes demolition of some illegal settlers within the Panaad compound, is also ongoing.

Regulation of people who are coming into the Panaad premises from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. should also be observed, Diaz said.
