No.1 drug personality in Victorias City killed by riding in tandem

THE Victorias City Police confirmed that the victim of the shooting incident of a motorcycle riding-in-tandem suspects is the number-one drug personality on their watchlist.

Police Lieutenant Eduardo Corpuz, chief of Victorias City Police Station, said Danilo Toreña, 59 years old, married, resident of Sitio Pusod, Canetown Subdivision, Barangay 19-A, Victorias City was shot dead about 6:35 a.m. Monday June 28, 2021, on Angeles Street, Canetown Subdivision, Barangay 19-A of the same city by still unidentified suspects.

Initial investigation conducted by the police revealed that the victim was on his service single motorcycle coming from the market on the way home and upon passing Angeles Street in the said barangay, he was shot to death by an unidentified suspect.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds on his head.

The suspects, who were both wearing face masks and bonnets, fled to an unknown direction after the incident. Pieces of evidence recovered from the crime scene were fired cartridge cases of caliber 9 millimeter (mm), two deformed slugs, and one slug of caliber 9mm.

Corpuz said they are investigating the family of the victim about the possible motive of the killing.
