NPA claims killing of retired army

THE Leonardo Panaligan Command (LPC) of the New People’s Army (NPA) claimed the death of a retired member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at Barangay Bolado in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental on Tuesday, July 24.

In a press statement dated July 26, Ka JB Regalado said retired Army Second Lieutenant Laureano Degracia was a former intelligence officer of the AFP who allegedly monitors the activities of the group at the villages of Calamba, Bolado, and Basak in Guihulngan City.

In their statement, they narrated the victim’s supposed involvements in illegal activities.

On July 24, Degracia, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds when he was waylaid and shot to death by three suspected NPA hitmen. He was a former member of the 79th Infantry Battalion.
