Over 42,000 vials of Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines arrive for Negros Occidental, Bacolod

ADDITIONAL 42,800 vials of Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines arrived Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at the Bacolod Silay Airport for Negros Occidental and Bacolod City.

Dr. Zeaphard Caelian, head of the Provincial Incident Management Program (PIMT), said of the volume that arrived Wednesaday, 22 boxes containing 34,800 vials of the Sinovac vaccines are for Negros Occidental, while five boxes containing 7,800 vials are for Bacolod City.

The vaccines arrived around 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the vaccines that arrived will again be distributed on Thursday, July 1 to the local government units that are ready with the rollout.

The governor also said the rollout of Pfizer vaccines is ongoing at the Negrense Residences and Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City until Friday.

On the part of the Bacolod City government based on the report of the City PIO, the 7,800 doses of Sinovac vaccines allocated for Bacolod City were brought immediately to the cold room facility of the City at the Government Center.

In June, a total of 39,800 Sinovac doses were received by Bacolod City from the national government: 10,000 doses on June 5; 7,000 doses on June 8; 15,000 doses on June 23; and 7,800 doses July 1.

From March up to July 1, Bacolod has received a total of 83,540 doses of Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines from the national government.

As of June 24, the Covid-19 Vaccination Council, chaired by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, has administered a total of 58,339 Sinovac and AstraZeneca doses to Bacolod residents, the PIO reported.
