Over P180,000 shabu seized in Barangay Felisa

AN ESTIMATED P183,600 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Drug Enforcement-Unit in Purok Totong, Barangay Felisa, Bacolod City Sunday afternoon, June 20, 2021.

The operation also led to the arrest of Ronnel Balaquit, 25, of Barangay Felisa.

Police Major Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of BCPO, said Balaquit was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 3:20 p.m.

Police recovered from Balaquit's possession eight sachets of shabu weighing 27 grams, the P500 marked money, and a coin purse.

The suspect, who was identified as a street-level individual in Bacolod City, was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 10. He will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
