Over P30,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P38,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 5 at Charito Heights Subdivision, Barangay Granada, Bacolod City Tuesday evening, November 24, 2020.

The operation also led to the arrest of Dante Parandas, 45, and Ruffa Ubas, 28, both residents of Barangay Granada.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 9 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession eight sachets of shabu weighing three grams and the P500 marked money.

Pico said the suspects were under surveillance for almost a month before their arrest.

The suspects have been detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 5 and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
