Over P80,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P82,280 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug bust operations of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City from March 16 to 17, 2021.

The operations also led to the arrest of Dharyl Navarro, 27, of Purok Arao, Barangay Vista Alegre; and Reynaldo Gracilla, 45, of Purok Kabugwason, Barangay Mansilingan.

Police Lieutenant Ma. Liberty Indiape, spokesperson of BCPO, said Navarro was arrested by operatives of Police Station 4 after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 3:50 a.m. Wednesday.

Police recovered from Navarro’s possession two sachets of shabu weighing 5.1 grams with an estimated market value of P34, 680 and the P500 marked money.

Gracilla, who was identified as a high-value individual in Bacolod, was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 7 in Purok Kabugwason, Barangay Mansilingan around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police recovered from Gracilla’s possession four sachets of shabu weighing seven grams with an estimated market value of P47, 600 and the P500 marked money.

The suspects were detained at the custodial facility of Police Stations 4 and 7. They were facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
