P110-K in ‘shabu’ seized in 2 drug raids

THREE men were arrested in two separate drug bust operations in Negros Occidental which resulted in the recovery of an estimated P110,000 worth of illegal drugs in the past two days.

In Silay City, Julie Ann Palaras, 28, of Barangay 2 was collared at a hospital yesterday after she allegedly sold methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu to a police agent for P500. He is a newly-identified drug personality.

Police confiscated from Palaras three sachets of suspected shabu worth P60,000, a crumpled tissue, cellular phone, plastic bag, the P500 marked money, and P4,500 boodle money.

In Bacolod City, Jan Eric Alviar and Lancilot Bico were arrested at Barangay Singcang-Airport Sunday, October 14.

Both suspects reportedly yielded five sachets of suspected shabu weighing four grams worth P50,000, the P500 marked money, drug paraphernalia, and P470 in cash.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
