AN ESTIMATED P136,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 8 in Purok Florenceville, Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City Saturday evening, August 14, 2021.

The operation also led to the arrest of Carel John Rula, 42, of Barangay Pahanocoy; and Rodel Remegio, 24, of Barangay 18.

Police Major Joery Puerto, chief of Police Station 8, said the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 8 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession seven sachets of shabu weighing 20 grams, the P500 marked money, coin pouch and drug paraphernalia.

Puerto said Rula, a former call center, was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest while Remegio was also identified as one of the drug personalities in Bacolod City.

He said Remegio was a former detainee and was released in February 2021 through a plea bargaining agreement.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 8. They will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
