P15,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P15,000 worth of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized in separate drug busts of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in various areas in the city Thursday morning, November 28.

The operation also led to the arrest of Catherine Gallardo and Merryl Badana, of Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Gallardo was arrested by operatives of Police Station 9 after she sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover at Purok Pag-asa, Barangay Sum-ag at about 9 a.m.

Police recovered from Gallardo’s possession seven sachets of suspected shabu with estimated market value of P10,000, drug paraphernalia, and the marked money.

Badana was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 5 at Purok Masanag, Barangay 26 at about 10:20 a.m.

Police recovered from Badana’s possession five sachets of suspected shabu with estimated market value of P5,000, and the P500 marked money.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 5 and 9 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
