P1.5M worth of ‘shabu’ seized in separate drug busts

AN ESTIMATED P1,516,200 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) were seized in five separate drug busts in Bacolod City over the weekend.

On February 17, the City Drug Enforcement Unit raided the house of Krystel Joy Diaz in Barangay 2 through a search warrant. However, Diaz escaped while her three companions were arrested.

Collared were Roda May Celis, Jonathan Divinagracia, and John Patrick Esio. They are detained at Police Station 2.

Authorities recovered from them 18 sachets of suspected shabu worth P900,000 and a pouch.

The police said Diaz and Celis are under their drugs watchlist.

On the same day, the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit- Western Visayas and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency- Western Visayas conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Banago.

It resulted to the apprehension of Harold Aliguin, 40; Renegade Edianel, 30; Frayleon Valencia, 32; and Romel Cayucado, 46, all residents of the said village; and Neddenney Mendoza, 20, of Barangay Bata.

Cayucado is a level-two high value target while three others are street level targets.

All suspects allegedly conspired in the selling of a sachet of shabu worth P4,500 during the transaction with a police agent.

Authorities confiscated from them 10 more sachets of suspected shabu worth P400,000, and 14 assorted live ammunition.

They are all detained at Police Station 3.

Also arrested on Sunday, February 17, in a drug bust in Barangay 2 were Christian Binas, 21, of Barangay 1; Albert Orilla, 23, of Barangay 3; and Dennis Bautista, 48, of Barangay 2.

Target subject Leonilyn Rafols managed to evade arrest.

Police seized from them 10 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 12.5 grams worth P150,000.

All three suspects are detained at Police Station 2.

In a separate operation, Glenn Tobongbanua, 40, of Barangay Singcang-Airport was arrested in the said village on Sunday after police seized from him two sachets of suspected shabu worth P5,000, and the P200 marked money.

Tobongbanua is a street-level target. He is detained at Police Station 8.

On February 16, Jonathan Cordova, 27, of Barangay 27 was arrested in a drug bust in the said village. He is also under the drugs watchlist.

Cordova allegedly yielded five sachets of suspected shabu weighing 5.1 grams worth P61,200, coin purse, and the P500 marked money.

He is detained at Police Station 4.
