AN ESTIMATED P204,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Drug Enforcement Unit in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City Sunday afternoon, August 9, 2020.

The operation also led to the arrest of Jose Bonza Sr., 66, and his son Jose Jr., 38, both residents of Barangay 2.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 4 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession 21 sachets of shabu weighing 30 grams and the P500 marked money.

Pico said the suspects were identified as high-value targets in Bacolod City. Both of them were former detainees for violation of illegal drugs and were released from detention after entering a plea bargain.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
