P41,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P41,000 worth of shabu, or methamphetamine hydrochloride, was seized in separate drug busts conducted by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) on Friday evening, June 14, 2019.

The operations also led to the arrest of two drug personalities Lily Rose Hofileña, 35, of Barangay Villamonte; and John Kevin Ramirez, 26, of Talisay City.

Police Major Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Hofileña was arrested by operatives of Police Station 5 along Old Ceres Terminal Narra Street in Barangay Villamonte.

Police recovered from Hofileña’s possession three sachets of shabu with an estimated value of P5,000, and the P300 marked money.

Pico said Ramirez was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 2 in Purok Cagaycay, Barangay 2.

Police recovered from Ramirez’s possession 11 sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P36,000, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 2 and 5 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
