P65,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Barangay 40

AN ESTIMATED P65,000 worth of suspected “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 6 at Purok Katilingban, Barangay 40, Bacolod City Sunday evening, November 17.

The operation also led to the arrest of Jenro Hornoz, 30, of Barangay 40.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said Monday Hornoz was arrested after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover at about 11:55 p.m.

Police recovered from Hornoz’s possession nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing eight grams, and the P200 marked money.

Pico said the suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 6 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, a theft suspect was arrested by a security guard for stealing assorted shorts at SM Store in Bacolod City Monday.

Police identified the suspect as Emmalou Samodio.

Pico said Samodio was caught stealing three assorted shorts worth P 1,299.75 each at about 1 p.m.

The suspect was endorsed by the store representative Lorylie Mae Villasenor along with the store security guard Jojie Tanteras to Police Station 1 for the filling of theft charges. (MAP)
