P68,000 shabu seized in Barangay 12

AN ESTIMATED P68,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Drugs Enforcement Unit on Palanca Street, Barangay 12, Bacolod City Monday evening, July 6.

The operation led to the arrest of Ricky Ledesma, 41, of Barangay 16, Bacolod.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Ledesma was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 9:50 p.m.

Police recovered from Ledesma's possession seven sachets of shabu weighing 10 grams, the P500 marked money, a pouch, and P200 cash.

Pico said Ledesma was identified as a street level target in Bacolod and was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of BCPO and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
