P740,000 shabu seized in Bacolod City

AN ESTIMATED P748,000 worth of substance believed to be shabu was seized in a joint drug bust operation in Barangay 12, Bacolod City around 4 p.m. Saturday, May 21.

The operation also led to the arrest of Gomer Beloya, 46, of Purok Masinadyahon, Barangay 12, Bacolod City, and Melvin Generoso, 41, of Kadalag-an Village, Victorias City.

They were arrested after one of them sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer along Fr. Ferrero Street in Purok Masinadyahon.

Police recovered 22 plastic sachets containing the contraband weighing 110 grams, the P12,000 boodle money and coin purse.

Beloya, who was identified as a high value individual in Bacolod City, has been under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The operation was conducted by operatives of the Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group and Bacolod City Police Station 6.

Beloya and Generoso are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 6.

They will be charged for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
