P81,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Brgy. Villamonte

AN ESTIMATED P81,000 worth of suspected “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 4 at Purok Sulum 2, Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City Thursday afternoon.

The operation led to the arrest of Segundo Iglesia Jr., 43,Jeronimo Demafelis, 43, and Roselin Iglesia, 39, all residents of Barangay Villamonte.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover at about 2:45 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession 13 sachets of shabu, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Pico said that Segundo was identified as high value target in Bacolod. He was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest along with his companions.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 4 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
