Panaad kicks off with senators, thousands of Negrenses

THOUSANDS are expected to gather on Monday, April 8 for the opening of Panaad sa Negros Festival at the Panaad Park and Stadium.

Karen Dinsay, Provincial Information Officer, confirmed that Senator Cynthia Villar will be the guest of honor and speaker during the opening ceremonies at 4 p.m.

Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. will declare the festival open. Towns and city officials all over the province are expected to join the opening ceremonies.

Dinsay said other senators are also expected to come as they were also invited for the weeklong festival, which is considered as the festival of all festivals in the province.

Trade fairs and exhibit will also open on Monday as well as the best festival dances competition.

Dinsay said that special feature of the festival this year is the “Kaon Na Ta @Panaad.” It is a gastronomic evening delight with Negrense celebrity chefs in Balay Kalamay on April 10, 6:30 p.m. (TDE)
