PDEA conducts surprise inspections of ports

THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Western Visayas conducted random drug check-ups at the seaport and airport in Negros Occidental.

At 5 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, PDEA-Western Visayas K9 and airport interdiction units conducted random check and K9 sweeping operations at the cargo warehouse and baggage conveyors followed by the profiling of passengers at the arrival area of Bacolod-Silay International Airport located at Airport Road, Silay City.

There were no drugs recovered during the said operation.

On August 19, the PDEA-K9 Unit, SIDITG-6 and Seaport Interdiction team also conducted random check operation and profiling of passengers at the Iloilo Fast Craft Terminal located in Barangay Progreso, Lapuz, Iloilo City.

There were no illegal drugs found during the said interdiction operations.
