PhilHealth asked to settle P41M with CLMMRH

Merlinda A. Pedrosa

BACOLOD City Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya has requested the president of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) for the expedient settlement of the pending Interim Reimbursement Mechanism (IRM) of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) with PhilHealth.

In his letter dated August 7 to PhilHealth President and Chief Executive Officer Ricardo Morales, Gasataya said the hospital informed him that a Memorandum of Agreement on the reimbursement of claims in the amount of P41,746,068 duly signed by representatives from the CLMMRH and the PhilHealth was accomplished on July 7, 2020. However, the hospital has yet to receive the IRM to date.

He said the CLMMRH serves as the sole-end referral and premiere tertiary hospital that offers specialized medical care for the City of Bacolod and the entire Province of Negros Occidental.

He added that in these trying times, the CLMMRH has become paramount to the efforts of the province against coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as the leading institution in the testing and treatment of Covid-19 patients.

Gasataya requested Morales for appropriate action in the expedient settlement of the matter to maintain the efficient operation of the said hospital in pursuit of the safety of the people of Bacolod City and the Province of Negros Occidental amid the pandemic.
