BACOLOD City Executive Assistant Ernie Pineda denied that he threatened Diego Malacad, president of the United Negros Drivers and Operators Center (Undoc), on social media.

Pineda, cluster head on markets, said Monday, October 19, that he never threatened Malacad on social media and he only reacted on the statement of Malacad when they mentioned the name of his brother, who was already dead, during their rally.

"Why [did] they need to mention the name of the dead person? What is their point?" Pineda asked.

"He was attacking me and he questioned my position here. I'm just giving my reaction and I'm only doing my job to address the concerns of the market vendors in the city. I never threatened him," he said.

Malacad said that last week, he received a threat on social media and the message was the same on the statement of Pineda.

He said they will ask the assistance of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for an investigation.

He added he will also make a formal complaint to the City Council to investigate the office of Pineda after he received information that Pineda allegedly owned a stall in Annex Building in Libertad Public Market.

Malacad noted that Pineda should be the representative of the sectoral concerns and he should do his job to address their problem.

Pineda also countered that he never owned a stall in Libertad Public Market and he will also file a formal complaint against Malacad for issuing libelous statement against him.

Pineda said that he is transparent and he is ready to face the complaint of Malacad.
