THE Bacolod-Silay Airport and the Bacolod Government Center were negative on drugs based on the random inspections conducted by the Regional Office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

PDEA Regional Office reported that to ensure that airport premises are drug-free, PDEA-NOCPO Airport Interdiction Team and K9 Unit (AIU) under the direct supervision of Nicolas C. Gomez, Provincial Officer, conducted random paneling and profiling of passengers at the cargo warehouse and baggage conveyors, including the departure and arrival lobbies of Bacolod-Silay International Airport located at Airport Road, Silay City.

The said operation yielded negative for any presence of illegal drugs or any other contrabands, PDEA reported.

Meanwhile the agency also reported that as the Masskara celebration's highlight nears, the BCGC was also inspected.

The PDEA NOCPO K9 Interdiction has also conducted random paneling and K9 sweeping at the BCGC on October 17.

The area was targeted by the Interdiction Operation as a key venue and as part of the agency's intensified and unrelenting campaign to interdict drug trafficking and as deterrence for any drug transactions that may occur during the entire duration of the annual celebration of Masskara Festival in Bacolod City.

The said operation yielded negative for any presence of illegal drugs and other contrabands, PDEA said.
