Repatriation of LSIs, ROF suspended

Teresa D. Ellera

THE repatriation of locally stranded individuals (LSI) and returning Filipino workers (ROF) to Bacolod City, Negros Occidental and Iloilo City has been suspended for 14 days starting Saturday, August 8, 2020.

In a memorandum circular signed by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, who is also the chair of the National Inter-Agency Task Force Against Covid-19 (IATF), he said the suspension of repatriation is in connection with resolution No. 28 dated August 7, 2020, of the Regional IATF-Western Visayas and Regional Task Force Covid-19-Western Visayas requesting for the 14-day moratorium for the repatriation of LSIs and ROF to the province, Bacolod City and Iloilo City.

The request was made amid the spike of Covid-19 positive cases in the said areas the past few days.
