ROTARY International District 3850 led by Governor Lindon See Diet and Rotary Club of Bacolod–East president Philip Araneta and some past presidents visited Department of Social Services and Development-assisted Bantug Day Care Center at Barangay Alangilan in Bacolod City Friday to see for themselves on how they can help improve the existing facility.

Before they went to the site, they paid a courtesy visit to Barangay Alangilan Punong Barangay Deggie Tanista and the village council members who were holding a special meeting at the Barangay Hall.

Those who went with the rotary district governor were past presidents Sonya Verdeflor, Jun-Jun Arceo and Carla Cañet.

Governor Diet told Punong Barangay Tanista that Rotary will help improve an existing daycare center and equip it with learning and cooking facilities so it can help improve the learning capacity of the school children.

He said: “We want to help make the center conducive to learning. We plan to also provide cooking equipment that can help when they prepare food to feed the school children.”

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
