AT LEAST 25 individuals from the different barangays in San Carlos City completed their 316 hours of Cookery NCII training at the city's DOST Livelihood and Skills Training Center.

The Public Employment Service Office (Peso), in coordination with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda), held a culmination program for the first batch of scholars at the city hall lobby last October 8, 2020.

Mayor Renato Gustilo urged scholars to aim higher and upgrade their cooking skills to attract more clients and generate employment if they want to venture into business.

Vice Mayor Christopher Carmona also recognized the efforts of the graduates for completing the required number of hours despite the pandemic.

Training beneficiaries, Hernalene Bayot and Cerah Dalisay, thanked the City Government and Peso, as well as the Tesda, saying the training provided them quality and high standard skills in cooking which could make them globally competitive.

Erel Lim, Peso in-charge, said the local government has been allocating funds to give free Tesda-accredited trainings to individuals as part of the economic interventions that will prepare beneficiaries for the new normal and equip the city with more skilled workers. (PR)
