School robbed with P138,000 cash

AN ESTIMATED P138,849 in cash was robbed from the administrative office of Central Philippines State University in Barangay Camingawan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on April 23.

Senior Inspector Jerald Muya, city police chief, said three unidentified persons entered the office past 12 a.m. and destroyed the vault using a metal tube.

One of the robbers was armed with an unknown firearm.

Muya said Maria Socorro Llamas, 46, a cashier at the school, discovered the incident around 10 a.m.

Muya said they have persons of interest based on the copy of the closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footage of the school.

One of the three robbers has a previous case of robbery, he added.
