Seminar on basic gender awareness held

CLOSE to 100 permanent employees of the Silay City Government from various departments attended the two-day Basic Gender Awareness and Gender and Development Orientation held September 20 to 21.

This is part of the city’s observance of the 118th Civil Service Month.

Resource persons were Provincial Council for Women Advisers Marie June Pavillar-Castro, who is also chair of the Pilipina-Bacolod/Negros Occidental chapter, and Dionela Flores-Madrona, assistant social welfare officer of Talisay City.

Mayor Mark Golez, who graced the seminar-workshop on the second day, congratulated the Human Resource Management Office led by Pacita Caile for organizing the activity and reiterated his support for the development of the employees and the Silaynon families.

Meanwhile, Caile announced that the City will have its Civil Service Month culmination on September 27 at the plaza covered court.

Aside from the GAD activity, the City also conducted a Palarong Kawani where competitions in bowling, basketball, volleyball, dart and chess participated by the city employees, selected national government agencies and government-owned and controlled corporations operating in Silay. (PR)
