THE Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) will jam the cellular phone signal during the Pageant and Coronation Night of Lin-ay sang Negros 2018 at the Pana-ad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City on April 20.

Inspector Charmae De Paz, public information officer of Nocppo, said Sunday the signal jamming will cover the whole duration of the pageant night, as they considered it as one of the highlights of the 25th Panaad sa Negros Festival this year.

The temporary shutting down of network services from all telecommunication companies is part of the security plan of Nocppo.

All cellular phone signals will return to normal after the event on that day.

Meanwhile, the Negros police will have a meeting with other concerned-government agencies this week to discuss the final security plan and other matters for the festivity.

Initially, 1,072 law enforcers will be deployed to establish peace and order during the festivity.

Nocppo will deploy more than 800 policemen, with 60 augmentation forces from Bacolod City Police Office.
