Soldier shot dead by suspected NPA rebels in Negros Oriental

A SOLDIER belonging to the 62nd Infantry Battalion based in Barangay Libas, Isabela was shot dead by suspected members of the New People's Army (NPA) in Sitio Compound, Barangay Luz, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental on July 1, 2020.

The victim was identified as Corporal Mark Anthony Quioschon, legal age, married, and resident of Himamaylan City.

Based on the report of Guihulngan Police Station, the victim was from Philippine Army Camp, Barangay Libas, Isabela, Negros Occidental and was going the Community Support Program in Barangay Banuague, Guihulngan City.

When he was in Sitio Compound, Barangay Luz, Guihulngan City, he was shot several times by an undetermined number of suspected NPA rebels that caused his instantaneous death.
