Surprise drug test for Capitol employees eyed

Sunnexdesk

CAPITOL is planning to conduct another surprise drug test for capitol employees this year.

This was revealed Friday, May 10, by Provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea after a regular employee assigned at the Provincial Accounting Office was apprehended in a drug bust operation.

Gelvolea said that they will not reveal the exact date of the random drug test. “It will be a surprise or on the spot drug test to be able to catch employees who are users of illegal drugs,” he added.

Last year, the surprise random drug test was done after the flag ceremony and only more than 600 of more than 2,000 employees have undergone the drug test.

Two employees were tested positive of illegal drugs and have been sanctioned. (TDE)
