Teen, 3 others yield P67,000 in ‘shabu,’ firearm

AN ESTIMATED P67,000 worth of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized in two separate drug busts from four persons, including a male teenager, in Negros Occidental on January 21.

In Bacolod City, John Java, 39, of Barangay Handumanan; Arthur Guites, 33, of Barangay Alijis; and Ronnie Barera, 29, of Barangay Taculing, a high-value target and drug surrenderer, were arrested in Barangay Alijis.

Police recovered from them five sachets of suspected shabu, an improvised tooter, pouch, the P500 marked money, bag, drug paraphernalia, a caliber .9mm pistol, and four live ammunition.

All suspects are detained at Police Station 7 for the filing of drug charges.

One of them will also be charged for violation of the Commission on Elections gun ban.

In Victorias City, LudyBoy Magbanua, 18, of Barangay 13, a newly-identified drug personality was collared in a drug bust in the said village which resulted to the confiscation of three sachets of suspected shabu worth P3,000, cellular phone, the P300 marked money, and P280 in cash.
