A TEENAGER stabbed dead his step father who also happens to be his uncle at Barangay Gahit in E.B. Magalona town, Negros Occidental at about 10 p.m. Saturday, December 3.

The victim was identified by Maj. Kenneth Jay Gratones, E.B. Magalona police chief, said as Renante Tuting, 44, of the barangay’s Sitio Minicasa.

Gratones said the suspect Loyd Richard Tuting, 19, tried to escape but was arrested few minutes later.

He said that the suspect and the victim have bad blood against each other since the former is always saying bad things about the latter especially when he is intoxicated.

“Fed-up, the suspect argued with the victim and that eventually led to the stabbing,” Gratones also said.

The two live on the same house since the suspect is the brother of the suspect’s deceased father, investigation showed.

The victim succumbed to multiple stab wounds upon arrival at the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, police records showed.

Two more men were injured in stabbing and hacking incidents in the town of Pontevedra and Sagay City, Negros Occidental over the weekend, reports from the provincial police office showed.

Laborer Reynaldo Siriana, 50, of Purok 2 at Barangay Zamora, Pontevedra was reportedly stabbed by his neighbor Rudy Lumogdang, 64, in the abdomen shortly after midnight yesterday, December 4.

The granddaughters of the Siriana, whose names the police withheld for being minors, claimed that the two had a verbal tussle prior to the stabbing incident.

Siriana was rushed to the Don Salvador Memorial Hospital while the suspect evaded arrest.

Meanwhile, in Sagay, Joe Molina, 30, of Yolanda housing was injured when he was reportedly hacked Pepito Abilis alis “Kuing”, of Purok Maalwan in the city’s Barangay Makilong at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Initial investigation showed that the victim and suspect were having a drinking session at Purok Makilong when a misunderstanding occurred between them which eventually led to the hacking incident.

Molina was rushed with four hack wounds at the Alfredo E. Maranon Sr Memorial District Hospital while the suspect fled.*
