FIFTH District Representative Marilou Arroyo led the Training Induction Program for Bread and Pastry NCII in Isabela, in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) on Sunday, August 24.

The program was attended by the 30 beneficiaries from the Municipality of Isabela. They were oriented by Tesda and VMA Global College and Training Centers Inc. about the training program, its benefits, and their responsibilities as beneficiaries.

During the event, Arroyo herself joined the beneficiaries in bread making and other activities.

The Bread and Pastry NCII course aims to develop the skills of students in preparing and producing bakery and pastry products, such as cakes and desserts. Under the module, the students are also taught different presentation methods, sanitation, and safety.

Meanwhile, Arroyo also participated during the Training Induction Program for Masonry NCII, attended by the 22 beneficiaries from the Municipality of Hinigaran on Saturday, August 23.

This program aims to hone the skills of students in constructing brick and concrete block structures, installing pre-cast baluster/handrail, and plastering concrete wall surface.

Six more training programs await the 5th District of Negros Occidental. The programs will begin after the completion of the list of beneficiaries being prepared by the Local Government Units (LGUs) and Tesda.

The beneficiaries will start their training before the end of the year for the programs of Assemble Electronics Products leading to Epas NCII, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Smaw) NCI, Automotive Servicing NCI, Cookery NCII, Hilot (Wellness Massage) NCII, and Carpentry NCII.

Arroyo stressed the importance of the programs in providing opportunities and skills important for employment.

"These training programs provided by Tesda are essential to the beneficiaries in making them competitive in the respective areas. They can use the skills that they learned and developed in finding jobs, or even managing their own businesses," Arroyo ended.
