Toboso vice mayor resigns

TOBOCO Vice Mayor Edgar Bartolome has resigned from his seat citing personal business conflicts.

Bartolome has officially resigned effective September 30, 2019.

Mayor Richard Jaojoco said he is saddened over the vice mayor's resignation as he was doing well in his job.

“I am also confident that Vice Jesse Rex Bartolome would do his best for the people of Toboso,” Jaojoco said.

Jesse Rex, who is an incumbent member of the Sangguniang Bayan of Toboso, took the seat of his older brother.

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Provincial Director Ferdinand Panes said the Rule of Succession was observed in the case of the Bartolome brothers.

The one who will take the seat of the younger Bartolome at the Sangguniang Bayan will be decided by their political party, Panes added.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
