Traffic rerouting, road closures start October 1

THE Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) will implement the traffic rerouting and road closures from the celebration of the MassKara Festival from October 1 to 23, 2022.

This, after the Bacolod City Council approved the proposed traffic rerouting and road closures of BTAO during their regular session on Wednesday.

Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran Major Junji Liba, head of BTAO, is also urged to intensify its information dissemination regarding the traffic rerouting and road closures to avoid traffic jams during the festival.

Liba earlier said that there will be a road closure on Araneta-Luzuriaga Streets to Gonzaga Street; Rizal Street; San Juan Street and Gatuslao Street from 3 p.m. to 5 a.m. during the entire festivity.

He said they will also impose road closure at junctions of Lacson Street and South Capitol Road and Lacson Street and North Capitol Road on October 21 to 23 from 3 p.m. to 5 a.m.

He added all northbound vehicles from Lacson Street will take a left turn to Cottage Road then left turn to Gatuslao Street, right turn to North Capitol Road, another left turn to Aguinaldo Street, right turn to BS Aquino Drive, and left turn to Lacson Street going to the point of destination.

All southbound vehicles from Lacson Street will take a right turn to BS Aquino Drive then a left turn to Gatuslao Street to the point of destination.

BTAO will deploy a total of 320 traffic enforcers in various areas to maintain the smooth flow of traffic.
