Tricycle driver hurt in stabbing

A TRICYCLE driver was injured after he was stabbed by three unidentified assailants in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City Sunday evening, June 28, 2020.

Police identified the victim as Joemarie Descartin, 34, of Canlaon Street, Barangay Villamonte.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said the victim was driving his tricycle when the suspects attacked him using a bladed weapon at around 8 p.m.

He said the victim managed to run but the suspects chased him and attacked him again.

The victim sustained multiple wounds and was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital. The suspects immediately fled the scene.

Pico said Police Station 4, led by Major Charles Gever, is still conducting further investigation to determine the motive and to identify and arrest the suspects.
