THE 1,500 rapid testing kits donated by Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri to Negros Occidental and Bacolod City were formally turned over Friday, April 24.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson received the 1,000 testing kits for the province turned over by Tatak Kalamay led by Sugar Board Member Emilio Yulo III.

Yulo said 500 units were also turned over to the Bacolod City government while another 500 will be turned over Saturday to Negros Oriental.

Meanwhile, Zubiri revealed that the social amelioration asked by the sugar workers may not be granted by the SRA.

Yulo said that despite endorsing a resolution for giving subsidy to the sugar workers amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the SRA has already given the money to the national coffer amounting to P600 million for Covid-19.
