NCR bets seen to dominate UniGames

MANILA- Manila-based athletes are expected to repeat its dominance over provincial teams as the 15th Philippine Sports Commission-University Games (PSC-UniGames) kicked off at Silliman University in Dumaguete City on Sunday.

The seven-day event will culminate on October 30 as organizers tallied 265 teams from 47 schools in Metro Manila, Northern, Southern, and Central Luzon, Mindanao, Central and Eastern Visayas, Western Visayas.

The students will compete in 13 sports disciplines, namely: basketball, volleyball, football, swimming, lawn tennis, badminton, chess, sepak takraw, softball, archery, beach volleyball, table tennis and athletics.

In the 14th edition held in Iloilo City, Metro Manila teams ruled 20 of the events contested in both the men’s and women’s divisions.(Virgil Lopez/Sunnex)
