Philippine Airlines ships water to Japan

Sunnexdesk

MANILA -- National carrier Philippine Airlines and its sister company Asia Brewery Inc. have donated bottled water to earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan.

Airline spokesman Joey de Guzman said 70,000 bottles of distilled water were flown on a regular PAL flight Tuesday to Tokyo. The companies have promised to send 700,000 bottles in all.

De Guzman said the Tokyo government will be in charge of distributing the bottled water to the hardest hit areas.

He said they could have shipped the water sooner, but the Tokyo government warehouses had limited space because they were filled with donations from around the world. (AP)
