MANILA -- Malacanang on Tuesday ordered the Philippine National Police (PNP) to fast track the investigation of the gang-rape incident in Maguindanao involving a 21-year-old volunteer nurse.

Deputy Presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said they are expecting quick result from the authorities and bring appropriate justice for the victim.

“I believe the case is already under investigation so the relevant authority should be acting swiftly on the matter,” she said.

Several nurses led by the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) rallied to Mendiola Tuesday to seek justice for “Florence” who was abused by a group of young men, some of them, reportedly belong to influential families in Maguindanao. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
