NATIONAL Bureau of Investigation (NBI) personnel arrested Wednesday the suspected recruiter of one of the three Filipinos on death row in China for possession of illegal drugs.

A radio report said NBI agents arrested Tita Cacayan around 6 p.m. in her house in Barangay Rizal, Alicia town, Isabela province.

Cacayan is the alleged recruiter of Sally Ordinario Villanueva, 32, who was nabbed in Xiamen, China on December 25, 2008 for carrying some 4,410 grams of the prohibited substance.

Villanueva is set to be executed in China next week along with Ramon Credo, 42, who was arrested at the Gaoji International Airport in Xiamen for carrying 4,113 grams of heroin; and Elizabeth Batain, 38, apprehended at the Shenzhen Airport with 6,800 grams of the same substance.

It was Jason Ordinario, Villanueva's brother who pointed Cacayan as behind the arrest of his sister. (Sunnex)
